Our “Farmer’s Market” Themed Wedding Shower!

We just got back in town from a weekend trip to Florida, where my extend family hosted a “farmer’s market” themed wedding shower for my fiancé and I. It was a weekend I will treasure forever.

If you know my family, you’ll know that we are all obsessed with gardening, clean eating, and all things farmer’s markets! This shower combined all our favorite things into one: organic veggies fresh from the garden, good ole family time, and a denim friendly dress code. I slipped on a pair of white cowboy boots and a cozy comfy dress that gave me all the “something blue” wedding vibes! I felt beautiful and fun and really cherished getting to celebrate our engagement with our cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

As we get closer and closer to our September wedding date, I can’t help but want to soak in every single moment of family time. It truly is such a sacred season of life. My Meme, aunts, and mom have been sharing the most incredible stories about their own wedding days and years of marriage. Sitting at their feet to soak in all their wisdom is a gift I will never take for granted!! And to get to share it all with my fiancé, Bill, and pull him into our family like this is the most special feeling (PS – have you heard the story of how we got engaged?).

Here are all the highlights from our family’s farmer’s market wedding shower!

Our Florida family.

My dad grew up with five sisters so our family gatherings are always quite large! I love it so much. I’m thankful to have such a special bond with each one of my cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. There’s nothing quite like it. Sharing these pre-wedding moments with family is the coolest feeling and I can’t describe how overjoyed I feel about it all without welling up with tears.

My aunts spoiled us with the most decadent spread of homemade brunch foods. I mean, just look at these pictures!!! Aunt Angie made this incredible dairy free, gluten free quiche that was seriously amazing (linking the recipe here!). Aunt Sandy tossed her signature salad (freaking YUM) and created this fun mimosa bar. And Aunt Cindy made her famous strawberry cake and had the place decorated so beautifully. Everyone pitched in to decorate, clean up, and shower us with so much love. It was the best party and every single detail was so creatively thought of.

Can we all just take a second to drool over these food pictures! Oh my goodness! Y’all. We ate soooo much food!!! And at the very end of the shower, we got to take these homemade jars of jam home with us as the party favor. It so perfectly fit the theme and wow, the peach, blackberry, and strawberry jams were delicious!

One last picture before boarding our plane back to Dallas.

As we flew home to Dallas, we had the biggest smiles on our faces. Our family went above and beyond to make this weekend special. It was a dream come true to get to be there with everyone. And my favorite part was how real the shower made everything feel. This was the first moment that it all sunk in. We’re getting married in 79 days!!

Thank you to my family for thinking through every detail and working so hard to make this a weekend we will never forget. I am filled to the brim with gratitude. I feel radiant, special, and so overwhelmed with happiness. Thank you for welcoming Bill into our family with so much warmth and kindness. I am absolutely thrilled to share this next season of life with you all and cannot wait to be reunited soon again at the wedding!

With lots of love & a few more towels for our new apartment,
Madison (soon-to-be!) Deaton

Here’s a pic of our new towels, generously gifted by our Aunt Ann & Uncle Joe! Look how happy we are!!! 😉

PS – Our Sunday night flight ended up getting cancelled and we couldn’t get another flight back home until late Monday night. It was crazy!! But at least we got to be with our family one whole extra day.

One extra day in Tampa meant we got to revisit our favorite restaurant, Oxford Exchange, and our favorite coffee shop, Buddy Brew Coffee!! We always leave town with *at least* two bags of their coffee! Oh and Bill & I we’re so close to booking our wedding at Oxford Exchange!!! The only reason we didn’t is because the max number of guests you can invite is 200 and our current list is at 270! But their interior space is sooo dreamy. Here are a few pictures. It’s such a treat to go back every time we’re in Florida!
