Below you'll find four truths that I return to again and again. These are the tips & tools I use to build confidence in my own self. Because at the end of the day, all I want is to know that I am enough. And I bet you do too.
01 | Don’t compare your story to someone else’s.
Dear friend, I want you to know this: your story is so unique and so so special. I urge you to tell it. Don’t let yourself get down just because your middle is messy. Don’t you know that all the best stories are? And if your story doesn’t sound like the ones you’ve been told well then, hold on tight. Because this is where the magic is. There is beauty within your pain. There is triumph to be found from the wounds pressed into your palms. So please, tell us your story the way only you can. You are here only once and you’re the only you there will ever be. So tell us of your light. Don’t let your light be dimmed simply because it doesn’t look quite the same as someone else’s. Shine your light. Tell your story.
02 | Show up for yourself.
If you say you want to something, do it! Building confidence can only be done through action. It is not something you are born with. And it will not show up for you overnight. Rather, it comes little by little in small doses. Take advance of this!! Day after day, you can build up your confidence in yourself by showing up for things you say you want to do. For instance, if you dream of being a photographer and owning your own studio, then start small today. Buy a camera, take an online class, listen to a podcast, ask other photographers and business owners how they paved their own path. The power is in your hands!
03 | Grow your skillset.
Take what you already know how to do well and find small, simple ways to build on that knowledge. Be intentional about your learning. Go after it with discipline and determination! Most people are unwilling to start simply because they’re afraid of looking like a beginner. But not you, my friend! You are a force to be reckoned with. So, go forth and add on to your skillset, knowing that every thing you learn is preparing you for where you want to be. Learn from others (success always leaves clues). Read books, listen to podcasts, ask questions. And then put all the wisdom and input you gather into practice.
04 | Put your dreams into action.
If there’s a dream on your heart, know that it is there for a reason. Search yourself and see if you can identify why you feel called to do the thing you want to do. You don’t always have to know how you’ll make it happen. You just have to get clear on why you want to do it. The “how to” will always find you :) Dear friend, it’s time to stop letting every day life get in the way of your dreams. Find small ways to start pursuing your impossible dreams today. After all, they were given to you for a reason. Only you can live out this dream in your uniquely specific way. So live it out!!! Start small but always always remember that dreaming big is worth all the while.
Last but not least, I want to leave you with one final thought. If anything in this post sparked an idea within you, I encourage you to write it down. Pursue it. Don't leave this page without acknowledging the dreams on your heart. If you thought of a fun or creative way to build more confidence or pursue a budding dream, then go for it!!! Trust the process. Take the next tiny step forward. I'll be here cheering you on, every step of the way.
With love & light,
Your trainer - Madison.
